Please Turn Up Lady Gaga’s Vocals on the New Rolling Stones Track

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mick Jagger described the process of recording with Gaga as such: “She just walked in, in front of me, and she just curled up in a ball in front of me on the floor.”

“And then someone gave her a mic, and she started singing oohs and aahs,” he continued. The Rolling Stones TikTok account even provided video evidence of Gaga curled up in a ball. Would she have been mixed louder if she hadn’t been imitating a roly-poly? We’ll never know.

Regardless, we stan two legends collabing. Gaga first joined the Stones onstage for a performance of “Gimme Shelter” over a decade ago in 2012; this marks the artists’ first in-studio collaboration.

Let’s not forget that a 2022 music history book, The Stone Age, alleges that Jagger was involved with his songwriting partner, Keith Richards, based on interviews with a number of people with whom the singer was closely involved. The book also claimed that Jagger was involved with onetime Stones guitarist Mick Taylor. That was based on an interview with someone who had been told by Taylor’s ex-wife that she had once found him in bed with Jagger, so it’s not exactly firsthand information but it certainly has an air of believability given Jagger’s whole vibe.

And of course, Gaga recently reminded an audience at her Vegas residency that her breakout single, “Poker Face,” is “about sleeping with men and thinking about women the whole time.”

The Rolling Stones’ new album, Hackney Diamonds, will be released on October 20.
