A 24-year-old woman in Chile was assaulted by a random man as she worked at a store on Christmas Eve. The man waited until Maria Estrella was alone in the store in Las Animas, Valdivia, Chile and began to fondle her as though he owned her body.
Maria bravely confronted her assailant with a swift punch, trapping the aggressor inside the store until help arrived.

The incident, captured on a security camera, gained visibility when the victim shared the video on Instagram to expose the perpetrator.
The assailant, identified as a psychology student from the Austral University of Chile (UACh), triggered widespread outrage within the university community. In response, the university’s Gender and Sexualities Secretariat (SEGESEX) called for the establishment of a gender violence prevention model within the institution.
