In Miami, a 44-year-old woman named Sandra Jimenez was taken into custody for a troubling incident: she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the eye with what the police are calling a “rabies needle.”
The unsettling event occurred at their home on a Saturday night. According to reports, Jimenez jumped on top of her boyfriend, with whom she had an eight-year relationship, and used a needle intended for their dogs’ rabies vaccinations to carry out the assault.
The boyfriend, who was lying on the couch, shared with the police that their argument was ongoing, specifically revolving around his alleged habit of looking at other women.
After the attack, Jimenez fled the scene, prompting her boyfriend to call the police. He was subsequently taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment of the eye injury.
Law enforcement later found Jimenez asleep in her car outside her residence. Following her arrest, she now faces charges of a domestic violence felony for aggravated battery.
Jimenez appeared in court on Monday, where her bond was set at $7,500. The judge, recognizing the seriousness of the incident, ordered her to house arrest and mandated that she stay away from her boyfriend.
