Beloved Hong Kong actress Bonnie Lai Suk-yin, aged 46, passed away tragically on Tuesday in what appears to be a case of suicide. The news was confirmed by her ex-husband, Kenneth Low, revealing that Lai was discovered unconscious at her residence in Park Belvedere, North Point.
Reports show that she had burned charcoal, which omits carbon monoxide, and her son found her in this critical condition. Despite being transported to Ruttonjee Hospital, she was pronounced dead. The authorities have not found a suicide note at her residence, and the cause of her death is pending the results of the autopsy.
Bonnie Lai, known for her roles in films like ‘Young and Dangerous 3’ and her standing as a runner-up in the Miss Asia Pageant, had celebrated Christmas with her family shortly before the tragic incident unfolded.
