Shania Twain's BFF stole her husband, so she married her friend's ex

Shania Twain opened up about the challenging aftermath of her ex-husband’s betrayal and the end of her friendship with Marie-Anne Thiébaud on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. She described feeling “uncontrollably fragile” when she learned that her producer ex-husband of 14 years, Mutt Lange, cheated on her with her close friend Marie-Anne.

Following the breakup, Shania found unexpected comfort in dating and eventually marrying Frédéric Thiébaud, Marie-Anne’s ex-husband. Despite what some might see as a complicated situation, Twain isn’t embarrassed about it. She revealed that she and her ex-husband used to have dinners with the Thiébauds yet she only got to know Frédéric after both had split from their respective partners.

Twain expressed admiration for Frédéric’s grace in navigating the pain caused by their previous relationships. In what seemed like a subtle message to her ex-husband and former friend, Twain asserted, “I think everyone gets what they deserve. I got what I deserve, I got the greatest man on the planet. That’s how I see it.”
