Simone Biles has once again claimed the title of the greatest gymnast of all time by winning the individual all-around title at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. She now sets the world record for winning her 8th all-around world title. In addition, the U.S. team made history earlier in the competition by winning its seventh world title.
Biles, who was competing for the first time since the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, opened her outing with a huge 15.1 score in the vault. She then moved into first place after the uneven bars event, which is usually her weakest, with a 14.333 score. Biles remained in the lead after a strong showing on the balance beam, and sealed her sixth all-around world title with a dazzling floor performance, despite a small trip midway through.
