Date: 6th September, 2023
Time: 4 – 6pm UK time ( 11am EST)
The panel of four highly esteemed international human rights law professionals come together at this event to discuss the current challenges on the issue of discrimination against women within the framework of international human rights law. Each panellist will take a profound look at the concept of intersectionality from the perspective of her field of expertise.
The in-depth conversation will be followed by a Q&A session. The discussion will look at various aspects of intersectionality – from the Vienna Tribunal to the freedom of belief and religion. Also, the use of intersectionality by the CEDAW Committee and the Committee on the Rights of the Child in relation to economically disadvantaged girls and women will be discussed, focusing on the need to increase the Committees’ effectiveness to reduce income and wealth inequalities.
The event is hosted at Kellogg College, University of Oxford and will be moderated by Anna Arutshyan, director of the Women’s Solidarity Fund.
