Australian Laura Enever has made a historic splash by shattering the Guinness World Record for surfing largest wave. Enever, aged 31, etched her name in the annals of surfing when she defied a colossal 43.6-foot (13.3m) wave in the waters off Hawaii’s North Shore, marking an extraordinary achievement in the sport, says TVP World

Enever’s remarkable feat unfolded on an outer reef on Oahu, Hawaii, where she boldly paddled into this mammoth wave, rewriting the record books for the largest wave ever ridden by a woman.

Her encounter with the gigantic wave was a moment of awe and determination as she reminded herself to navigate the enormous wave without faltering.

Successfully reaching the base of the wave, Enever faced another challenge: a series of even larger waves trailing behind. She had to rely on her training to maintain her composure and skillfully handle the ensuing waves.

Three massive waves came her way, but she demonstrated exceptional poise, escaping the dangerous surf. Her own disbelief and near laughter followed the adrenaline-pumping ride.

Shockingly, Enever remained unaware of her record-breaking accomplishment until days later. While most photographers and videographers focused on a big wave competition at nearby Waimea Bay, it wasn’t until a photographer messaged her with a snapshot of her remarkable ride that she realized the historical magnitude of her achievement.

When sharing the photograph with her family, they were taken aback and filled with astonishment and pride as the true enormity of her wave-riding triumph became apparent.

Australia’s Aaron Gold holds the men’s paddle record with a 19.2m wave, while Brazil’s Maya Gabeira achieved a record by being towed by a jet ski into a 22.4m wave in Portugal.

The biggest wave ever surfed measured a towering 26.2m and was towed into by Germany’s Sebastian Steudtner in Portugal. Laura Enever’s groundbreaking achievement has securely established her as a trailblazer in women’s surfing, leaving an indelible mark on the sport’s history.
