Abuja – According to UNICEF, out of the 23.6 million girls who get married before the age of 18, about 10.3 million of them are married before turning 15. With more than 23 million child marriages, two out of every five women married are minors. Child brides are highly reported in the northwest Nigerian states of Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Jigawa, as well as Bauchi State which is located in the northeast. Mary Todd, one of the five defendants involved in a brawl that took place in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 5th, was sentenced to anger management classes on Friday after pleading guilty to harassment. The other three defendants, Allen Todd, Reggie Ray, and Zachary Shipman, had their cases continued, while Richard Roberts, the fifth defendant, was waiting for his case to be heard. The state of Ohio has indicted a 33-year-old woman named Rebecca Auborn on murder charges for the deaths of at least four men in Columbus.  Police say the four deceased men were drugged and robbed by Auburn after enticing them with sex. Out of the five men that Auborn is alleged to have targeted, four died of overdoses between December 2022 and June 2023, while one man survived. Auborn is currently in custody at the Franklin County jail, and the investigation is ongoing. It remains to be seen how many more victims may be linked to this case. Investigators believe…

According to the survey, when women in a society are doing well, everyone benefits. Interestingly, the report reveals that women are valued more in some countries than others, resulting in economic development in the latter countries. Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the number of clinician-provided abortions across the country increased by roughly 2,200, due to women seeking abortions flocking to states that allow it. #WeCount, a recent study done by the Society of Family Planning, an international charitable group that supports access to abortion, found that between July 2022 and June 2023 more women sought abortions than the previous year.  The report also showed that the number of clinician-provided abortions indeed did drop greatly in states that outlawed or strictly limited access to abortion, but abortion care rose in states where it…

Samantha Woll, a Detroit area synagogue leader was found fatally stabbed to death on Saturday morning. The tragic discovery of a newborn girl’s body in a dumpster at a convenience store in Decatur, Alabama has led to the arrest of Cindy Nicole Crow. According to reports, police were initially contacted to check on Crow’s well-being, as she was believed to have recently given birth. Evidence was obtained that supported this belief, but after meeting with Crow, the baby was nowhere to be found.
